My New Toy

A Steam Mop!

I love it, no more buckets of water and no more waiting all afternoon for the floors to dry (they are lethal!), all for the price of £25! We looked at getting one a few months ago for £60! The first time i cleaned the floor, it took no time to do and was dry in 5 mins. I strongly recommend investing in one!

Car Boot Buys

Our hoover decided to stop working just intime for the car boot. Every week a man sells Dyson Hoovers. We bought one like this last time and it did last us 2 years. Don’t worry we got to see it working too. Better than going through 2 brand new hoovers in a year, before we bought our last one. So if we get 2 years out of it i’ll be happy! It set us back £45, but £45 well spent as it is brilliant! Its also much lighter than our last. All the other purchases came to under £20 can you believe it?

We aslo bought a giant truck and trailer, not pictured, but put away for Christmas!

Washington Wildfowl Trust

More than 5 years ago we purchased a years membership here, last month we realised we’d been debited each year for this. We’d moved house and like all the other memberships we’ve had in the past, once the year ended it was finished and we’d choose to renew. Well opps, this was not the case. It was a direct debit membership. Our membership was only for 2 adults and no childreen as Emily would have been under 2. Neil rang them and they apologised as they held no details for us, the banks do instead. She gave us a family membership for no extra and renewed our pass from this month. We were also able to visit that same day. A couple of days later we received a very nice letter of apologies. We do realise this is our fault and we should check our bank statements each month. Its now also not set up as a direct debit, so we can decide if we wish to renew it next year. Well anyways we had a great time, although i bumped Jacobs head. Yes i am a bad mother! I did not strap him into his pushchair for the 20mtr walk we had to feed the ducks the left over food, and he fell out 😦 It was also the only time he had sat in his pushchair!

Date Night Family Night

Friday night is our date night. Tonight we shared it with our children and took them to the beach!

We had sort of planned to go to Souter Lighthouse and have abit of a walk down to the stone beach, but on the way we decided to head to Trowel Rocks beach. We sat near the cliffs and the kids played with buckets and spades. Emily started on digging a hole, then Neil decided to dig one too, i’m not kidding they were both falling into them!

We watched the boats and Jacob headed for the water. We hadn’t planned on getting wet, so had no towel or spare clothes – big mistake! Neil thought he’d let Jacob have abit paddle, this ended up taking his nappy off along with his clothes and leaving him in his bodysuit. Once Jacob was in, the girls were in too. Evie got soaked right up to her armpits. Neil even had abit paddle and his trousers got abit wet!

When i was a child my favourite thing to do at the beach was to build a moat, so thats what we did tonight! We channelled a stream to the moat too, so it filled up quicker. The girls decorated it with sticks and seaweed that had been washed up with the tide.

The kids thought it was great wearing mammmys and daddys huddies on the way home and a quick warm bath warmed them through beore bed.

We all really enjoyed tonight, nothing better than a free night out!
Jacobs zonked too!

August fruit and veg garden pics missed

Missed a few pics from the August fruit and veg garden pics. The carrots and potatos are washed up and i pulled a few shallots.

Ice Cream for Dessert

Ice Cream for dessert. We all enjoyed it! The Butterscotch was lush, tasted just like Crunchie ice cream. Next time we’ll add some crushed Crunchie bar!

August Garden Fruit and Veg

We’ve been harvesting some of our fruit and veg from the garden. I thought i’d take a few pics of things that were still growing. All of these are grown in pots/boxes of various size.
